Filling my A5 Sketch pad with floral paintings. I have been snapping images of the roses that grow in my garden. These are different compositions and close ups. I am trying to capture those shades and tones of yellows in the roses.
Recently I found this beautiful image of two roses and loved the colours! After experimenting in my sketchbook with some new acrylic paints purchased, I have drawn my image out on a 12″ x 12″ canvas. These above are the steps and progression of my painting. Working out the arrangement of the petals and different shades of yellows, oranges and pinks. I love the dark background as it makes the rose stand out. I have almost finished and currently working on the final details of the water droplets on the petals. Hope to post soon x
